Doll by the reborn doll
Baby dolls have therapeutic benefits for seniors, such as reducing anxiety and social isolation. They bring moments of happiness and comfort. Also useful for entertainment and companionship.
Different activities with reborn dolls help to maintain and strengthen fine motor skills. Dolls can also be used in nursing as a diversion for caregiving. A person with the skills and know-how and a doll can help enhance the quality of life of a senior who loves babies. Doll therapy is equally effective with men and women, with or without cognitive deficits. The doll approach is also highly effective with people living with a neurocognitive disorder such as Alzheimer's or a related neurocognitive disorder.

The reborn doll approach: a complementary approach to care
It is recognized by scientific and empirical studies. The use of reborn doll realistic play with seniors is being developed in Quebec and Canada, and is attracting a great deal of interest. The doll approach is a sensitive, creative and stimulating human activity that helps to break down solitude with respect and dignity.
When you consider that one in five patients in long-term care facilities is treated with antipsychotics, and that the doll approach can help reduce pharmacological use, there's reason to want to know more about this therapy. In fact, the Canadian Geriatrics Society recommends that antipsychotics should not be the treatment of first choice, but rather that non-pharmacological senior-centered approaches should be adopted. Doll therapy has been proven in a number of studies, and its positive effects are evident in all the literature consulted.
Notre Boutique de Poupée Reborn

My initial motivation for creating and implementing the reborn doll approach is rooted in experience with my own mother, who passed away in 2016 at the age of 90. The idea of using dolls in a hospital setting came to me from her. In 2012, I gave my first creation to my mother, who cried tears of happiness as she held it in her arms. After several years of research and experimentation on the subject, I decided to set up a staff training program.
